Private lessons

Private lessons are always in the morning at 10 am.

On request and only for private lessons, we can offer other languages (french, german, spanish, japanese, chinese, russian). Customers can choose to attend any number of lessons, from just one to a whole course.

Custom lessons

By contacting us by email or telephone you can agree the lesson menu directly with Francesco. You can choose from traditional Tuscan cooking lessons, vegetarian and vegan lessons, specific lessons on fresh pasta, pizza, and much more.

This type of experience is suitable for everyone and especially for groups of more than 4 people and family trips with children.

The school is equipped with a baby-changing table and high chair, has air conditioning that is always on in summer and is a stone’s throw from Piazza del Campo, the Basilica of San Domenico, the Sanctuary of Santa Caterina and all the city’s main attractions.

Lella’s Cooking School is perfect for spending a moment of taste and relaxation with loved ones and friends in comfort.

Wine experience 

Francesco is a certified AIS Sommelier and it is possible to book a wine-tasting lesson with food and wine pairing by agreeing on the type of wines and food pairings. For example, you may choose to take a lesson to discover the great red wines of Tuscany: Chianti, Chianti Classico, Nobile di Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino paired with traditional dishes; or you could book a lesson dedicated to the pairing of white wines, such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano and with fish dishes or white meats.

Private Courses 

For an immersive experience, it is possible to agree directly with the school on private courses from 2 to 5 appointments in which to deepen your knowledge of Tuscan and Italian wine culture in general.

For clients who wish to attend a small number of lessons we recommend that they choose from the following:

  • Menù Tipico Toscano – A traditional Tuscan meal from starter to dessert.
  • Le Paste Fresche– Fresh, home-made filled, plain or coloured pasta and their accompanying sauces.
  • Pizze e Focacce– Pizza and flat bread
  • I Dolci Tipici Senesi– Traditional Sienese Desserts (Ricciarelli, Panforte, etc.)

Some other usefull informations:

  • The Cooking School of Lella is using only fresh local products.
  • It is possible to actively participate in the preparation of recipes.
  • The participants receive handouts in english to facilitate the learning of the various steps and to allow them build their own personal cookbook.
  • It is possible to attend one or more lessons.
  • The lessons can be private or for groups, naturally the costs are different and they are intensive lessons of 3-4 hours.
  • For bigger groups there is the possibility to do “quick” lessons of about 2 hours.

Lella, the Founder,  has always been a passionate researcher of ancient cookery texts and Francesco inherited from her a love for mixing old, familiar recipes with only the healthiest and most authentic local ingredients.
